Religious Freedom Laws Elicit Venomous Reaction by Liberals
Indiana Religious Freedom Laws
Religious Freedom Laws seem to activate extreme hate in some questionable communities. One recent venomous reaction was registered by one of the ‘Captains of Industry,” Tim Cook, in media comments (The Washington Post, I believe) he made on the Indiana Freedom of Religion Law, wherein he blasted those business owners and other individuals who oppose the laws allowing refusal of service to “gays” because it violates their religious beliefs.
One might ask: does the Apple organization have a literal culture of “sucking up to the boss?” Taking a bite of the apple takes on a whole new, literal, meaning! These comments are commonly made in the general workforce to express moments of frustration or disapproval, but have limited literal application or meaning. Some Apple employees may want to reevaluate and practice a little discrimination in determining who they work for and what they are giving up for their current quests.
Discrimination is one of the keys to a good life, and I have often practiced discrimination. I choose not to drink liquor and have never injured anyone in a drunken stupor. I also don’t knowingly get in a vehicle with someone drinking. I choose not to smoke, and I breathe easily and have not had lung cancer. I was very careful about the choice of a wife, and we have been married 55 years – never separated, divorced, had a fight, hit her (or been hit by her). I don’t knowingly associate with criminals. I also don’t freely associate with gays, although I worked with individuals that were suspiciously gay (or whatever) based on their demeanor and comments from others, but I never asked if they were gay, and they never admitted it (a policy that has worked well for many years). I choose not to spend money on cell phones, I detest them and the addiction many have with them. Apple could go completely out of business, and I would never miss anything about Apple. I still use an old Motorola flip phone and Consumer Cellular as a carrier (my charge approximately $14.00 per month). I also choose to live below my means and live very comfortably in retirement. I don’t have a credit score because I don’t generate credit, I pay as I go. So, I have no interest in those who clamor against discrimination! I once signed up in the military and pledged several times to defend the constitution but look with contempt at the low-life deceiver that has the primary responsibility for Constitutional defense. I have listened to his lies for several years and do not believe anything he says (the same also goes for Harry Reid). None of them would be welcome in my home.
Freedom of association, religion, and property rights were promised in the US Constitution. No one should be forced by threat of prosecution to associate with or provide services to those who engage in or promote perverted practices with which they disagree. That includes the “Captain of Industry,” no matter what his business interest claims are. The bottom-line considerations of some perverse interest should not deprive others of their freedom and morality. And no, I don’t and will not own an Apple product. Do you think it might have descended from the forbidden tree? I wonder…? He, apparently, as I understand, as well as other major corporations, are threatening economic blackmail of cities and states that try to protect their citizens with the Freedom of Religion Laws.
I resent the hijacking of a perfectly joyful word, “gay,” to represent their perverted lifestyle. I see nothing gay or joyful about their lifestyle and practices. In addition, I have known several individuals whose Surname was “Gay.” Conversations with them or references to them could become a little strained at times. Formal definitions of two of the words associated with homosexuals appear below.
Gay: 1. Showing or characterized by exuberance or mirthful excitement; merry. 2. Bright or lively, especially in color. 3. Full of or given to social or other pleasures. 4. Dissolute; licentious. 5. Slang. Homosexual¹.
Queer: 1. Deviating from the expected or normal; strange. 2. Odd or unconventional in behavior; eccentric. 3. Arousing suspicion. 4. Slang. Homosexual. 5. Fake; counterfeit¹.
When I was growing up, in High School, in the early 1950’s, I often heard the older boys and adults talk about the “queers” and their filthy practices. I don’t remember ever hearing the word “gay” being used in the conversations. The use of “gay” is, apparently, a relatively recent substitution for the word “queer.” As I listened to some of the references to the activity, I could not believe that humans would actually descend into those levels of depravity. It took many years of adult life, associations, and observations, for me to accept the reality of that deviance. Of the two definitions given above, I believe, “queer” is the term most descriptive of the homosexual activity. Many of them seem to prefer the term and use it themselves, but apparently don’t want the general, normal, population to use it. They wish to censor the terms they don’t like and substitute more nicely sounding ones.
Concerning Who You Marry
Marriage is a sacred vow between a man and woman and the Bible offers many verses that offer guidance for married couples, husbands, wives, newlyweds and engagement. Read verses from the Holy Bible about marriage in relation to God, Jesus Christ, and the Christian faith. God, in the beginning gave us the guidance and expectations for living our lives.
26Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them. NIV Genesis 1:26-27.
5Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. NIV Colossians 3:5-6.
1Now for the matters you wrote about: “It is good for a man not to marry. 2But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. 3The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4The wife’s body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband’s body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. 5Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 6I say this as a concession, not as a command. 7I wish that all men were as I am. But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that. NIV 1 Corinthians 7:1-7.
Concerning Divorce
But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery. NIV Matthew 5:32.
3Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?” 4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.” NIV Matthew 19:4-6.
