ToggleLawlessness increases threaten the United States and, by extension, the rest of the world. One glaring example of this is the recent United Airlines fiasco of removing the doctor, David Dao, from an overbooked flight by force. The doctor refused to give his seat up for flight crew use, even after being offered incentives for doing so. He was then apparently dragged from his seat, down the aisle, and off the plane by airport police. During the altercation the doctor was reported to have suffered various injuries. This is unfortunate, however, the passenger and his wife were offered incentives, along with two other passengers, to give up their seats peacefully. As a result of this action, lawsuits against United have been mentioned. I contend that United had no other choice other than to have municipal police arrest the doctor and forcefully remove him from the plane. Lack of planning, by United, for carrier personnel requirements for seating should have been included in seating sales, since, I assume, the requirements should have been known in advance of other ticket sales.
I have traveled by many of the commonly available public modes of transportation – bus, airplane, train, ship, etc. It has been my observation that the contract (passage ticket) between the passenger and the carrier usually states that the passenger is subject to the authority of the operating personnel at all times when they are availing themselves of the services of the carrier. This contract is accepted when the customer/passenger buys the service. This is necessary and as it should be, since the carrier becomes responsible for the well-being of the passenger. In my opinion, and I’m not a lawyer, the passenger is responsible for his/her own well-being when they violate the terms of the contract – especially in a hostile, noncompliance manner.
The lack of respect for authority has been increasing for many years! And is demonstrated at the highest levels of Government as demonstrated by Democrat Party attitudes and actions as a result of the 2016 Presidential election. This Party has, according to news reports, encouraged lawless protests and resisted authority needed to curb them. Some Party members and outside parties are also reportedly financing the lawless activities, according to various news sources. This challenges our whole system of constitutional government. This attitude of disrespect for authority is being injected into our colleges and universities, both domestic and abroad. Similar lawlessness is demonstrated in other countries, much of it, both domestic and abroad, is related to illegal immigration and imported refugees who have no respect for and do not share the values of the United States or of any other civilized society.
